Colin Bolger is a Registered Building Surveyor with over 20 years’ experience in delivering consultancy services to both the private and public sectors. Within the past few years Colin has completed a CPD Certificate in Professional Energy Skills in NZEB, a Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Analysis and Energy Retrofit and a CPD Diploma in Thermal Bridge Assessments. Colin’s main areas of expertise are in planning & building regulations compliance and energy design, particularly in domestic buildings. Clients benefit from his in-depth knowledge and creative approach, which allows for the generation of alternatives to the existing solutions. Since 2010 he has worked closely with SEAI in providing mentoring and assessments for both public and private sector bodies.
NZES was established by Colin as a result of the obvious need for independent Energy Consultants. He quickly realised that a quality project does not come down to how quickly it can be built, more so how well the building functions and how energy efficient it can be within the constraints of the budget and the time frame.
Following the Postgraduate Certificate in 2017, Colin developed a keen interest in energy efficient design principles. Having completed the course, he became a technical advisor for SEAI for their Deep Retrofit Pilot Programme, providing advice, case studies, evaluations and guidance for the programme.
His primary role within the company is planning and building regulations compliance, thermal modelling, NZEB design and as a BER auditor for SEAI and collaborate with leading practitioners in the field. Colin continuously keeps abreast of the latest research, and often found attending key industry conferences both in Ireland and abroad.
